1. The Tripod Head: this is the most important part of the tripod. It is the part where the camera is connected, so make sure it fits well and is resistant. Never compromise on this aspect.

2. The Size: if you are reading this article, you are probably interested in a pocket tripod. So look at the size of the travel tripod advice and see if it fits in your bag. If not, then there is not much use buying and you should look for alternatives that fit your camera bag.

3. And finally, take a look at the construction of the tripod. You will find many tripods on the market that are cheap, but lack the quality of construction. Obviously, you will not find the same quality of construction as an appropriate tripod, but neither can it be so poor.
